The Seasons 2.0 is an adventurous, contemporary annual cycle in which music, poetry, illustration and performance merge into a single 360° art experience.

Pianist Marie François, in collaboration with VONK & Zonen, breathes new life into Tchaikovsky’s 150-year-old suite ‘The Seasons’. Starting in January, François will release a new interpretation of one of his monthly compositions each month, accompanied by a brand-new poem and a matching illustration by Juliane Noll, entirely in the spirit of the original idea in which music, text and image together form a single imagined month.

The poems were written by Joke van Leeuwen, Lize Spit, Ester Naomi Perquin and Max Temmerman.

Actor Koen De Bouw recites all the poems, both in Dutch and English, with translations by David Colmer.

The Seasons will be brought to life for a whole year at De Standaard, Opium (NPO Klassiek), The Bulletin, Pianist Magazine, Poëziekrant and various podcasts and streaming platforms.

From November onwards, stage performances will be added, completing The Seasons 2.0: twelve listening moments, twelve poems and twelve illustrations that together form one immersive experience — one that makes you pause and move forward at the same time.

We will capture 2026 month by month, with sound, imagination and in full colour.
