Sebastiaan Van Doninck grew up in a foster family in Gierle, on his parents’ farm. He worked on numerous illustrated picture books that were translated into more than 26 countries and won him the Boon public award, among others. In recent years, he has been using autonomous practice more as a breeding ground for paintings, drawings, graphics and ceramics. He recently published Morris, a collaboration with Bart Moeyaert.
